
20 Sep VII Spanish Geoparks Open Meeting in the Orígens UNESCO Global Geopark
- 15 Spanish Geoparks and 4 aspiring territories will meet this year at the Orígens Geopark, in Catalonia, to share their work and the importance of this UNESCO figure.
- The theme of this meeting is “Conservation and Innovation in Geoparks” and will be discussed on Thursday, November 3, at La Lira cultural centre, in Tremp, open to the general public.
The seventh edition of the Spanish Geoparks Forum Open Meeting will be held in Tremp from 2nd to 4th of November 2022. This year it is organized by the UNESCO Global Geopark Origens, where the fifteen Spanish Geoparks and four aspiring territories will meet.
On the 3 rd of November, within the framework of this meeting, several round tables open to the general public will take place to discuss about “Conservation and Innovation in Geoparks”, where anyone can attend and participate. This event will be held at La Lira cultural centre, in Tremp, Lleida province (Catalonia – Spain), and registration has already opened, available on the Geopark website: www.geoparcorigens.cat.
The Spanish Geoparks’ Open Meeting has been celebrated since 2014. Each year a UNESCO Global Geopark is responsible for hosting and organizing the meeting in its territory with the aim of publicizing the work carried out by the Spanish Geoparks and the repercussion of this UNESCO figure in their territories.
